Useful Resources

Whether we’re trying to lose weight or keep fit, exercising is one important aspect. See some posts on walking programs or fitness. But we also need to watch what we eat and other aspects of our lifestyle if we really want to lead a healthier lifestyle. So, I want to share with you some useful resources.

My Fitness Pal

www.myfitnesspal.com is my favorite site to keep track of your calorie intake and exercises. Some of you probably already use it. There’s a free version as well as a paid premium version. There’s an app that you can download to your phone. You can link it to your activity tracker and/or heart rate monitor.

There’s a blog where you can find articles on nutrition, weight loss, fitness, inspiration, and others. You can find healthy recipes there as well. There are lots of great articles there.

Here’s a video to show you how to use the app:

National Institute of Aging

Here’s a site for older adults who might not be as agile as the young ones. A lot of good information there.

Below is one of their exercise videos:

The Nutrition Source (School of Public Health, Harvard)

Healthy Eating Plate

Some of you may have heard of the Healthy Eating Plate, or something similar. It was created by the school. You can also find diet reviews and recipes there.
