Friends, as I mentioned in my post about short and sweet walk programs here, I have tried one Quick & Easy Dance That Walk (Gina Buber‘s 10-minute walkouts). It is fun, easy and low-impact. If you’re looking for an alternative to Leslie Sansone or Jessica Smith, try this one.
The DVD features
- Warm Up (5 minutes)
- Salsa (10 minutes)
- Flamenco (10 minutes)
- Merengue (10 minutes)
- Cha Cha Cha (10 minutes)
- Cool Down (5 minutes)
If you walk the whole program, you’ll reach the peak intensity (depending on your level of fitness, fat loss or aerobic zone). Unlike her other Dance That Walk programs, this one seems to feel more like Leslie’s (to me, anyway). As usual, there are four basic steps: walk, side steps, no kick, knee lifts, kick back. There are a few other moves like cha-cha and such depending on the music.
What I think
It’s really fun and easy. She doesn’t give you as much “warning” before she changes the steps (kind of like Jessica). The moves are all low-impact. No hopping, skipping, jumping, just plain walk and step. Overall, I like and recommend it.
Island Dance Party
To those die-hard Leslie’s fans, have you tried the new Walk at home walk 15 with Rocky? Did you know that Rocky performed with Beyonce? Rocky, a Walk 15 Leader, hails from the NJ/NY area. Learned her craft at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. Beside Beyonce, she has appeared alongside Rihanna, Donna Summers, just to name a few. Wow! How impressive! I had no idea. I’ve walked the Walk 15 with her as leader a few times and have noticed a slight difference in her moves. They’re the same basic steps, but she would mix up the arm movements a bit just to give a different feel. So, now I know how I got that feeling.
