Walk to the Hits

Hi friends, I’d like to share my experience with Leslie Sansone‘s Walk to the Hits: Party Songs and Walk to the Hits: Radio Remixes.

These DVDs feature hit music and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), giving you two 3-mile walks. So, instead of a long and boring workout, the HIIT method allows you to alternate between bursts of short, all-out effort and longer periods of recovery at a lower intensity. You’ll burn more calories (before and after your workout) and blast belly fat in less time. According to a study published in the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness, women who completed a 12-week HIIT program lost more weight than a group who performed longer sessions of moderate intensity cardio. The participants also lost MORE BELLY FAT.

What I think
Both Walk to the Hits programs are good and entertaining walk programs. I like them. If you’re just starting out, then the intensity is probably good for you. However, if you’ve been actively walking for some time, I suggest you actually go all out during the HIIT period. Ignore the music and jog or walk very quickly, otherwise you’d not feel the effects. A little advice from a pro (aka Jessica Smith): in order to get the benefits of HIIT, you really need to go all-out, like a 8 or 9 out of 10, during the HIIT time.
